Description

Salicylic Acid Ointment is a topical preparation containing salicylic acid in a white petrolatum base. It helps exfoliate the skin, remove excess keratinized cells, reduce skin thickening, and improve the appearance of affected areas.

Indications

Helps remove thickened keratinized skin and supports the care of hyperkeratosis, cutaneous warts, palmoplantar keratosis, keratosis pilaris, ichthyosis, psoriasis, chronic eczema with skin thickening, seborrheic dermatitis, acne, blackheads, pityriasis, pyoderma, and other conditions involving excessive keratin buildup, as directed by a physician.

Composition

Salicylic Acid (according to the strength stated on the package), White Petrolatum.

Directions for Use

Wash and dry the affected area.
Apply a thin layer once daily or as directed by a physician.
Wash hands after use unless they are being treated.

Warnings and Precautions

Keep out of reach of children.
Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, nose, and mucous membranes.
Do not apply to open wounds or inflamed or cracked skin.
Do not use if allergic to salicylic acid or any ingredient.
Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration.
Consult a physician before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Possible Side Effects

Temporary burning, stinging, redness, irritation, or increased skin peeling may occur. Discontinue use and consult a physician if severe irritation or allergic reactions develop.

Storage

Store in a dry place below 25°C, away from heat and light.
Use within 12 months after opening.
